The training course Human Rights Education against Cyber-hate”, will bring together youth workers, youth trainers, facilitators and youth leaders from European organisations with the main aim to incorporate the Human Rights approach in Youth Work to combat hate speech online.


The specific objectives of the project are:

-      To raise awareness about Cyber-hate and the risks it represents at a personal level (well-being of young people) and a social level (democracy).

-      To support human rights education activities against Cyber-hate

-      To promote media literacy and critical thinking and support online youth participation

-      To activate the partners to prevent and counter hate speech and violent radicalisation of the young people online and offline

-      To develop and disseminate a campaign in the social media to raise awareness on Cyber-hate


The participants will:

a) Improve their knowledge on Human Rights Education in favour of their target groups, and

b) Explore non-formal tools of Human Rights Education to help young people develop competences to recognise cyber-hate and to guard Human rights online.

Basic info on the project

Number of participants: each partner will participate with 3 people.

Age of participants: there is no age limit.

Place: Larnaca, Cyprus

Training dates: Saturday 20 October 2018 (arrival) - Sunday 28 October 2018 (departure).

Duration: 7 days for training and 2 days for travelling.

Cost: Food and accommodation will be covered 100% by the host organisation with the support of Erasmus+. We will reimburse the participants for the travel cost on display of their boarding passes and ticket invoices/ receipts. The travel cost can be covered up to 100% depending on the country of origin and the final price of the ticket. The reimbursement will be made based on real travel expenses.

Participation fee:
€30, to be paid in cash at the registration on the first day of the training.

Health and Travel Insurance: it is a responsibility of the participants.


Participants’ profile


Youth workers, youth trainers, facilitators and youth leaders who wish to enrich their toolbox with non-formal tools of Human Rights Education against cyber-hate.


Requirements from the participants

Proven record of experience in working with the youth in one of the above mention capacities:  youth worker, youth trainer, facilitator, youth leader.

Strong social media skills. The participants will be asked to promote the project in the social media and to run a campaign against cyber-hate with the support of SEAL CYRPUS.


Requirements from the partners

The partners will have to commit to the following:

-      Select participants with proven involvement in the youth field and willingness to promote the project in the social media.

-      Support SEAL CYPRUS in the dissemination of the project. SEAL CYPRUS will create the content for dissemination; the partners will be responsible for promoting the content through their social media and their websites.


How to participate

You need to fill a specific partner identification form (PIF) that is relevant to this project which is about Human Right/ Human Rights Education, Hate speech/ Cyber-hate. We have prepared the PIF (attached) where you can also find instructions on how to fil lit.


Send us the signed Mandate and the Partner Identification Form (PIF) of your organisation to
